When you don’t have a reliable temperature gauge on your grill – there is an easy way to gauge how hot it is: Hold your hand, palm down, just above grill level. Count by saying out loud, "one thousand-one, one thousand-two" for each second you can hold your hand there. Number of seconds before you must take away your hand = Grill temperature 2 seconds High 3 seconds Medium-High 4 seconds Medium 5 seconds Medium-Low 6 seconds Low |
